Today, EAPs need to demonstrate
their business value more than ever. Benchmarking, which
involves comparing one's own practices with the practices of
exemplary programs, offers a powerful tool for demonstrating
value and identifying best practices. This presentation
will introduce standardized EAP performance metrics, provide
national comparison data on these metrics, and show how this
information can be used to demonstrate value and determine best
practices.
The author will present specific
standardized and universal key EAP metrics that can be compared
across organizations and programs. A sampling of the
metrics that will be discussed include: standardized
utilization rates; participation rates by high-risk employee
groups; percentage of face-to-face initial assessments; number
of services provided to certain types of cases; and metrics for
workplace and behavioral outcomes.
The presenter will also share
national normative data on these same metrics that will allow
EAPs to determine how well they compare with other programs
around the country. This benchmarking information is drawn
from the EAP Data Warehouse™
managed by the presenter's
organization. The data in the warehouse represents many
different types of EAPs, including internal EAPs in Fortune
1000 companies and governmental organizations, blended internal
and external hospital programs, and external EAPs.
