In this first of a series of audio conferences on EAP policies and practices, we will explore the wide range of policies and practices used in the EAP field related to opening and closing cases.  By the end of this highly interactive discussion, you will know the pros and cons of your current policies and practices, learn what other EAPs are doing in this area, and receive recommendations on how to improve your existing policies and practices.

Topics covered will include:

  • How to define a case.

  • The difference between "cases" and "brief information-only contacts."

  • When best to close a case.

  • When to reopen a new case record versus reactivating an old one.

  • Implications of opening and closing cases on utilization rate and other metrics.

The presenter will interact with the audience throughout the session as well as answer questions during the Q & A session at the end of the presentation.
