Application of
Psychological First Aid for Employees in the Midst of Financial
Crisis
In some ways
the current global economic downturn feels like a monstrous
hurricane. It’s about the impact; not the incident! Business
leaders and EAP professionals are looked upon for leadership to
guide individual and organizational survival/"surthrival". This
practical 90-minute audio conference will review general
concepts and provide strategies essential to facilitating
resiliency with those impacted by the economic crisis. The core
activities of Psychological First Aid will be integrated within
a phase-sensitive, multi-component structure. Adaptations to
typical crisis response initiatives will be discussed. Audience
members will have opportunities to interact with the presenter
and one another in open dialogue discussions during the
presentation.
Learning Objectives:
-
Increase understanding of how response to an
economic downturn is similar and dissimilar to response to a
natural disaster.
-
Learn to apply a phase-sensitive,
multi-component response approach to this unique situation.
-
Learn to integrate the core activities of
Psychological First Aid into this type of response.
-
Identify the unique stressors upon business
leaders, those losing their positions, and those retaining
their positions during Reductions in Force and how to
support them effectively.
